Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist

Buckland is looking for an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist.

This position is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety programs across warehouse and operational activities. The EHS Specialist ensures full compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and company policies while promoting a proactive safety culture. This role plays a critical part in risk assessment, incident prevention, training, and regulatory compliance, supporting operational efficiency and employee well-being

You will be responsible for:

• Ensure full compliance with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), environmental, governmental, and company regulations, policies, and safety standards.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments for warehouse, yard, and office operations, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; perform root cause analysis (5 Why, Ishikawa, 8D) and implement corrective actions.
• Promote a culture of safety by leading training sessions, toolbox talks, and employee awareness programs.
• Ensure proper documentation and reporting of safety metrics, incidents, compliance records, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Coordinate emergency response programs, including drills, evacuation procedures, and contingency planning.
• Support compliance with CTPAT, OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with operations and management teams to integrate safety into daily warehouse activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain safety equipment, PPE programs, and ensure availability and proper use.
• Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring readiness for inspections.

What we need from you:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field (Preferred).
• Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience in environmental, health, and safety roles within warehouse or industrial operations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Knowledge of corrective action methodologies (5 Why, Ishikawa, 8D, etc.).
• Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001) (Preferred).
• Strong communication, training, and organizational skills.
• High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Bilingual (fluent in both Spanish/English).
• Advanced MS Office knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times.
• Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in CAD/USA/MX.
