Weekend Requirements: N/A | Work Hours: 7:00am - 4:30pm | Status: Per Diem/PRN - 0.0 FTE (less than 40 hours per pay period) | Entity: Owensboro Health Regional Hospital | Department: Nuclear Medicine
Job Summary: Provides imaging, therapeutic, and patient care services at defined levels to patients.
Job Responsibilities: - Implements radiation protection and safety standards. Applies as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) principle to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
- Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical factors accurately.
- Orders, prepares, administers, and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
- Maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Skills and Attributes: - Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Works under direct supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization.
Position Requirements: Work Experience Education - Diploma, Associate's degree or higher in Science or related field required upon hire
Licensure/Certification/Registration - CNMT - Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist required upon hire OR
- RT(N) - Certified as a Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine Technology required upon hire AND
- PET- Positron Emission Technology Certification required within 24 months of employment in this position AND
- BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
